Administrative Assistant - Development

MLG Development is seeking an exceptional Administrative Assistant to support our business park and residential development teams. Responsibilities include client customer service, word processing, copying, preparing and filing correspondence, database maintenance, proposal preparation, errand coordination, note transcription, answering phone calls for team members, serving as back-up receptionist, and various other administrative duties. This position may evolve over time to include higher level work, if the incumbent demonstrates aptitude. If you have least three years of administrative assistant work experience, produce high quality and accurate work, enjoy multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, and are service and team oriented, this may be the opportunity for you. Experience in real estate is a plus. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook are required. Development Intern
MLG Development is seeking a Development Intern to work part-time (approximately 18-25 hours per week, but no less than 18 hours M-F, 7:30-5:30) year round at our Brookfield office. Please note, this is not a summer only internship. Ideal candidates will have an interest in commercial and residential real estate development and be able to stay with us and grow with our organization for a year or more. Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate Real Estate and Urban Planning degree or a Real Estate Certificate; students graduating in May 2009 or later (sophomores and juniors) are strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, a valid driver’s license, and strong academic performance to date are required. Duties may include:
· Assisting with land and property research– zoning, demographics, etc.
· Updating various Excel and proprietary databases
· Assisting MLG’s Development Coordinators with residential development projects
· Running development related errands using company vehicles, such as dropping off/picking up paperwork, traveling to MLG Development sites, taking pictures of MLG developments, etc.
· Various other projects and duties

Accounting Manager
NAI MLG Commercial, Wisconsin’s largest full-service commercial real estate organization, has an exciting opportunity available for an Accounting Manager. This is a newly created position, fueled by growth in our Accounting operations. Primary functions are to assist in the oversight, coordination, analysis, and reporting of all accounting information and processes for several corporate entities. Responsibilities within this friendly work environment include ensuring that day-to-day accounting functions and monthly reporting are done in a timely and accurate manner, assisting in the preparation of Board of Director monthly financial summaries, coordinating and preparing annual budgets and corporate cash flow analysis.
Ideal candidates will possess 3-5 years in private industry accounting experience, or 2+ years experience in public accounting. A BA in Accounting and a CPA designation is required. Experience in commercial real estate is a plus, as is accounting team supervisory experience. In addition to a strong accounting skills, candidates should possess superior team leadership and interpersonal skills, and be able to interact effectively with a wide range of personalities. Strong knowledge of Excel is required, as is the ability to learn new software applications quickly. Candidates should possess a healthy degree of skepticism, problem-solving skills, and be skilled multi-taskers. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment where job duties are broad and varied. Because this is a leadership position, impeccable professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality is required. This position reports to the Controller.
