Fennimore is a city in Grant County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,387 at the 2000 census. The city's area was separated from the town of Fennimore, which remains as an adjacent rural area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.8 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 2,387 people, 1,021 households, and 622 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,610.5 people per square mile (622.7/km²). There were 1,068 housing units at an average density of 278.6 persons/km² (720.6 persons/sq mi). The racial makeup of the city was 99.12% White, 0.08% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.34% from other races, and 0.17% from two or more races. 0.75% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 1,021 households out of which 28.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.8% were married couples living together, 9.7% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 39.0% were non-families. 32.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.88.
