Government

New Lisbon is a Mayor-Council city with a City Administrator with varying powers. The Administrator took over the powers of Clerk-Treasurer and also oversaw all city operations and budgets. The first two Administrators were in place only for short periods of time. Carol Held, a former City Clerk of Reedsburg, WI, served as interim Clerk-Treasurer in 2001 and 2002. In 2002 the City hired Nicholas Onyszczak as City Administrator. He served for two years and during that time provide assistance to the expansion of the City's water, sewer and electric utilities. In 2004, Nicholas Onyszczak resigned. In 2005, Ed Kaelin was hired as City Administrator and is still currently serving in that role. The City continues to grow and looks at future growth both residential and commercial. The Interchange on Interstate 90/94 should provide an excellent area of retail growth. The downtown business area should also thrive with the new residential developments.
